For all CRGs
1. Latest Archie deployment: version 3.0 (general
features)
A major Archie deployment took place on 13th December
2009. About half of the new features relate to Archie generally, while
the other half relate more specifically to workflows in Archie. For
full details of this latest deployment, we encourage all CRG staff to
read ‘What's New’ under Help in Archie.
Some of the changes to Archie you will notice include:
- Favourites - easy access to frequently used resources
- 'Submit for editorial approval' through Archie - useful for authors where firewall problems prevent checking reviews in via RevMan.
- Convert messages to Notes - on the document or
person that the message relates to.
See Archie What's New page for details of these and many more features.
For Stage 2 workflow pilot Groups
2. Workflow features in Archie 3.0
Major updates to the workflow component include:
- More template customization - specify which task goes to which role; two extra Editorial Base roles.
- Extra time doesn't carry over - previously, when a task finished early, the following task could gain a large amount of time.
Again, See Archie What's New page for details of these and many more features.
3. Reminder about start of Stage 3 of the workflow
pilot
As mentioned in the previous IMS Bulletin, Archie 3.0
includes all the functionality requirements for Stage 3 of the workflow
pilot. We plan to start rolling out the workflows to more pilot groups
as from January 2010, by which time we will have updated the 'User
Guide for Workflow Pilot Groups' to reflect the new functionality
available in Stage 3. The current Stage 2 pilot Groups will be sent the
User Guide as soon as it is available. If you are not currently a pilot
Group but you would like to join the workflow pilot, or reconfirm your
willingness to join at this stage, please contact your IMS Support
person to arrange training in the New Year.
