Launch of Phase 1 of the new IMS

Document Actions
The first milestone, or Phase 1, of the Cochrane Collaborationís new Information Management System (IMS) has now been reached, and is scheduled to be launched Monday, 29 November 2004.

Phase 1 of the new IMS replaces the current Contact Database and is what youíll be using to manage contact details and edit module documents for your entity (with the exception of CRG module documents which will continue to be edited in ModMan for now). Phase 2, which is introduced gradually over the next year, adds review management, CRG module documents, workflow management and much more to the list of things you can do with the new IMS.

HOW TO ACCESS THE NEW IMS

Youíll be able to access the new IMS through the same web address as the Contact Database: www.cochrane-net.org/contact. Current Contact Database users will log into the IMS with their current user name and password. Please see system requirements below.

SCHEDULED DOWNTIME MONDAY 29. NOVEMBER 2004

The current Contact Database will be taken off-line Monday 29. November 2004 at 12:00 GMT. Between 12:00 GMT and 15:00 GMT, all Contact Database data, including contact details and non-CRG module documents, are transferred to the new IMS. From 15:00 GMT users can access their data through the new IMS.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

To access the new IMS you need Internet Explorer 6 or later. Support for other browsers (such as Mozilla FireFox) will be added later.
