Example email to authors whose review has been approved for publication but have not yet asked for an Archie user account (attach diff.doc).
Dear XX,
I am pleased to inform you that your [amended/updated] Cochrane [review/protocol] on [Title] has been approved for inclusion in next week’s module submission. We have converted it to RevMan 5 for you and made several edits in line with the Style Guide and RevMan 5. For details regarding RevMan 5, I refer you to the letter sent to all authors by the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group Co-Chairs on 6 March 2008 (PDF available at http://www.cc-ims.net/authors/rm5-letter.pdf). This letter explains what this means for review authors, along with information on where and how to download RevMan 5. Most of which can be accessed from http://www.cc-ims.net/authors. You should also have received a Quickstart Guide for Authors from me.
I have initiated the email to allow X [Contact author] to register to use Archie. This will allow him/her to view your review in Archie as well as check it out to RevMan 5 when you next update it. If you have any questions about RevMan 5 or Archie, please let me know.
I attach a document showing you the changes we made to the file you sent me. Please check to ensure that, when making the final edits, we have not unintentionally introduced errors. If you are happy for your [review/protocol to be released for inclusion in our next module submission, please print off and sign the attached Licence to publish form. It must be signed by all authors and faxed to me at +XXXXXX. Please post the originals to me at the address below.
If you have any questions about our edits or don’t agree with any, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Please reply by date X at the latest.
All the best
