- Question of the week: Is it still compulsory to complete the Next Stage Expected in Archie for Protocols? I notice that it is no longer published in The Cochrane Library.
1. Contact details
Once RevMan 5 is introduced, reviews published in RevMan 5 format
will include information on institutional affiliation(s), city and
country for all authors (not just the Contact author, as now).
Therefore, it is important that you ensure that the mandatory fields
for contact details for your authors are completed in Archie before the
release of RevMan 5 (currently planned for March 2008). The following
are the mandatory fields:
- First Name
- Family Name
- City
- Country
In addition, it is recommended that you complete a person's Department and Organisation if they have an institutional address.<7p>
Currently, you cannot create a new Person record in Archie without first entering a First Name and a Family Name. The next deployment of Archie, which is scheduled to take place before the start of the RevMan 5 pilot, will also ensure that a Person record cannot be completed without a City and Country. We also plan to send you a list of current authors for which the mandatory fields have not been completed so that you can ensure that the contact information for your authors is complete in advance of the release of RevMan 5.
2. IMS Clinic at the XV Cochrane Colloquium, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Members of CRG editorial teams who will be attending the Colloquium can arrange a face-to-face meeting with their IMS Support person during the Colloquium to discuss specific questions or issues they have about the IMS. Please contact your IMS Support person direct to arrange a convenient day and time to meet - see http://www.cc-ims.net/Projects/newIMS/Training/IMS_Support. Please note that Karen Hovhannisyan will not be attending the Colloquium. If Karen is your IMS Support person, he will arrange for you to speak to Jacob Riis during the Colloquium.
3. Distribution of IMS Bulletins
From this week, we will be sending the Index to the IMS Bulletins with a link to the web page where the Bulletins are archived to Co-ordinating Editors and Trials Search Co-ordinators so that they can keep up to date with IMS developments that are relevant to them. We will also start sending IMS Bulletins to the Super Users of CRG Satellites.
It is now possible for all Archie users to subscribe to the IMS Bulletin by adding a public note with the title "Subscribe IMS Bulletin" to their record in Archie. If the IMS Bulletins are relevant to the work of other members of your editorial team who currently do not receive the IMS Bulletin because they are not Super Users, please ask them to add a subscription note in Archie:
- Open your Properties sheet and go to Notes tab
- Click New to add a note
- Enter the title "Subscribe IMS Bulletin" (copy and paste this text to ensure an exact match)
- Click the Sharing tab
- Choose Public note
- Click Save and Exit
4. RevMan 5 Pilot Strategy
The RevMan 5 Pilot Strategy document is now available at www.cc-ims.net/RevMan/RevMan5/revman-5-pilot.
5. Question of the week
Question: Is it still compulsory to complete the Next Stage Expected in Archie for Protocols? I notice that it is no longer published in The Cochrane Library.
Answer: No. It is not mandatory to complete the Next Stage Expected on the Advanced tab in the Properties for a Protocol because this information is no longer published in The Cochrane Library.
