1. Latest Archie deployment: 28 February 2007
A new version of Archie (1.15) was deployed on 28 February 2007. Please check 'What's New' in the online Help file for full details. New features include:
(a) Review and version Phases: The overall review Phase
(Authoring vs. Editorial) and the Phase of an individual version of
a review (Authoring vs. Editorial vs. Shared) are now referred to
as 'Write Phase' and 'Read Phase', respectively.
(b) Linking from topic to review: the Link Review button is
only active when a topic you can link from is highlighted.
(c) The description field for a review version that has been
unpublished now records the date this happened (e.g. 'Unmarked for
publication 23 Feb, 2007').
(d) Users can see a full list of their own Document roles on
their Person Report.
(e) 'Undo publish' will be disabled while modules are being
processed by Wiley for publication.
2. Report on Archie module submissions for Issue 2, 2007 (from Ben Hickling, Project Editor, John Wiley & Sons)
Wiley collected data for all Cochrane entities from Archie at module submission time and e-mailed feedback reports to all CRGs. No errors were found in the data, but nine CRGs and one non-CRG requested late changes, so their modules were unlocked to allow these to be made, then re-collected. In addition to this, the collection of the Methodology Review Group module was delayed while edits were made so these reviews can be merged in to the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews from this issue.
3. IMS training events in 2007
(a) 'IMS workshop for Cochrane Review Group Editors' to be
held at the UK Contributors' meeting in Oxford, UK, on 19 March

(b) 'Copy Edit Support and the IMS' to be held at the UK RGC
meeting in Oxford, UK, on 20 March 2007.
(c) 'IMS for RGCs' at the Continental European Entities meeting, 14
June 2007.
(d) 'IMS for Centre staff' at the Continental European Entities
meeting, 14 June 2007.
We are currently discussing IMS training events for the Australasian Symposium on 12-13 July; and the Colloquium in Brazil on 23-27 October 2007.
4. RevMan 5
There will be RevMan 5 demonstrations at all this year's regional events. To keep up-to-date with RevMan 5 developments, go to http://www.cc-ims.net/RevMan/RevMan5/
You can sign up to become a RevMan 5 beta tester by sending an email to revman5beta@cochrane.dk .
5. Training server
If a user was registered on the Live server at the time the Training server is updated, the user's registration will carry over to the Training server. If not, and the person needs access to the Training server, the RGC will need to initiate the process of creating a user account on the Training server separately. The Training Server is updated with information from the Live server at irregular intervals.
6. Questions of the week
(a) Question: If I delete a protocol from Archie, does this trigger a 'Newtitles' message to inform subscribers that the title has been deregistered?
Answer: No, it doesn't. We therefore advise you to move the Stage back to Registered title and then delete the Registered title if you do not wish to have the title as a Vacant title. As a reminder, here are the actions which trigger the 'Newtitles' messages: Creating a Registered Title; Deleting a Registered Title ("de-register" message); Changing Title's stage from Vacant to Registered; and Changing a Title's stage from Registered to Vacant (a "de-register" message).
(b) Question: Why, just after the module deadline, are some reviews marked with a half blue circle whereas others are marked with a full blue circle?
Answer: While Wiley are processing the module submissions, the reviews with a new version marked for publication will have a half blue circle. Once Wiley have completed their processing, all reviews for publication will be marked with a full blue circle.
