1. Latest Archie deployment

A new version of Archie (1.14) was deployed on 6 February 2007. There are two new features:

Topics lists for Fields, which allows Fields to develop Topics lists with links to titles, protocols and reviews from any CRG. (For your information, (a) a similar feature will also be made available to CRGs once the policy (currently being developed) about when CRGs should link to a review in another Review Group has been approved by the Steering Group; and (b) we have added to the wish list the request that CRGs should be alerted when a Field links a review from their CRG to their Topics list.) You can now assign an Entity role from the Resources tree, and to more than one person at a time, by right clicking the role name in the People folder and assigning the role to an individual or to all people in your Selection set. Likewise, there is an option to remove a role from an individual who has it, but it is not possible to remove the role from more than one person at a time.

Remember to use the Training Server (http://130.226.106.133) if you wish to try out the new features before using them on the live server.

To view details of the new features as well as the bug fixes, go to Help > What's New in Archie.

2. Warning: avoid using the 'Cancel' option for 'Check Out (XML format)'

We suggest that you avoid using the 'Cancel' option for 'Check Out (XML format)' because this action discards the RevMan file but will still mark the review as checked out from Archie. If you do use it, remember to 'Undo check-out' afterwards.

3. Reminders

(a) Tips and checks for module submission on Wednesday, 21 February 2007 Before finalising your module submission, please remember to read pages 30 and 31 of the Phase 2 User Guide (http://www.cc-ims.net/Projects/newIMS/phase2/Phase2-User-Guide.pdf) on 'Preparing your quarterly module submission to The Cochrane Library'.

(b) Resolve duplicates Please also remember to check that you have no duplicates to resolve in Archie (Tools > Resolve duplicates...), and contact your IMS Support person for assistance if you have difficulties with your module submission.

(c) Referencing the current publication for a substantively updated review Before releasing a substantive update for publication, remember to include the reference to the current publication in the 'Other published versions of this review' in the 'Other references' section in RevMan.

4. Question of the week

Question: I have changed the status of a review to Withdrawn. Do I have to republish the review?

Answer: Yes, after including the reason for withdrawal in the 'Published notes' of the RevMan file, you must run the Publication Wizard for the review to be published as Withdrawn in the next issue of The Cochrane Library. For details of all the changes that may require you to republish the review, see pages 17 and 18 of the Phase 2 User Guide.
