2. Next Archie deployment (1.12): Thursday, 19 October 2006

3. RevMan 4.3 update: release of non-beta version
A final, non-beta version of RevMan 4.3 was released on 16 October 2006. Please note that it is not a mandatory release, but we still recommend that you upgrade to the latest version because of the improvements that have been made. These include:

RevMan 4.3 available from www.cc-ims.net/RevMan/RevMan4.3.
4. RevMan 4.2.9
RevMan 4.2.9 was released on 16 October 2006. Although this is not a mandatory release, you might want to encourage your authors to upgrade because of the new features, which include:
- Licence to publish form has been updated
- Support for the new citation style for Cochrane Reviews
5. Replacement of Titles website
When CRGs moved to Archie, they were asked to continue to register new titles on the Review Titles Manager website (www.cochrane.no/titles) as well as enter them into Archie. From 1 November 2006, however, you will be pleased to know that you will no longer need to register new titles in two places, but only do so in Archie.
In November 2006, a temporary Review Titles website (www.cochrane.org/titles) will be available to allow people (for example, potential authors) to browse titles. This new website will pull information on titles directly from Archie. During November, the Web Team at the German Cochrane Centre will be working on redesigning this temporary website to bring it in line with the look and feel of the rest of Cochrane.org. The launch of the new Review Titles website is scheduled for 1 December 2006, at which time there will be a Collaboration-wide announcement about its launch.
What do CRGs need to do before December 2006?
You will need to ensure that all your registered titles have been entered in Archie (File > New > Review... > Create a Registered title). In consultation with the Editorial Management Advisory Group, it has been decided that the IMS Developers will not try to automatically import titles registered through the Review Titles Manager website into Archie. However, to help CRGs ensure that all their titles are in Archie, the Review Titles Manager website www.cochrane.no/titles
will be available during November to allow you to check your currently registered titles. On 1 December 2006, all visitors to the existing website www.cochrane.no/titles will be redirected to www.cochrane.org/titles.
People who have subscribed to the email messages from the Review Titles Manager on www.cochrane.no/titles will automatically be subscribed to a new mailing list, newtitles@lists.cochrane.org
