1. Check-in report for a review which matches on title and not on review ID
Check-in report for a review which matches on title and not on review ID As mentioned in an earlier Bulletin, when you check in a Review from RevMan 4.3 to Archie, it will first match on Review ID. If it can't match on Review ID, it will then match on title. If it matches on title but not Review ID, Revman will alert you to this by informing you in the check-in report that the unique ID for the review did not match an ID in the system but a match by title was found. The report will also inform you that the ID of the new version has been changed to match the ID in the system for the title match.
Please note that if the title is also slightly different to the title already in Archie, Archie will create a new record.
Contact your IMS Support person if you need help with such situations.
2. Latest Archie deployment (v.1.10): 28 April 2006 3.
Latest Archie deployment (v.1.10): 28 April 2006 A new verstion of Archie was deployed today, 28 April 2006. For full details of the updates, go to Help > What's new. You should have received notification of this new deployment through the Archie messaging system or via your email address if you have edited how you receive your notifications (Properties > Settings > Edit Notifications). If not, please inform your IMS Support person.
This has been a major deployment with many changes made in response to the feedback you have given us. They include the following.
- Inactive authors: People and individual roles now have an 'Active' status (on by default). By unchecking the 'Active' box, you can now identify inactive people or inactive roles. The Role Summary section in the Entity Report is now split into three columns: Active, Inactive, Total, with totals for each at the bottom. The People folder in Resources now lists numbers for each role: Total, Active role, and Inactive role.
- Entity role permissions: The system for assigning permissions based on Entity Roles has been extensively updated. A set of default permissions has been applied for all the main CRG roles. To help you understand how the permissions now work, we attach a paper on the Entity Roles and Permissions in Archie (.doc format). Please contact your IMS Support person if you have any questions or would like advice on the use of permissions.
- Title registration email list: A new email list has been set up to handle the dissemination of new titles, in preparation for the transition from Review Titles Manager to Archie. This is not yet operational. We will let you know when it is.
- Publication report: The Archie Publication report now matches Wiley's. DOI link from Document Properties: Any review that has been published will have a DOI on the Advanced tab, which will take you directly to the review in The Cochrane Library.
- Bug fixes: Several bugs have been fixed including fixing the compare review function for review versions where one version had co-authors with an empty field.
Please continue to send us your feedback either by contacting your IMS Support person or by using the Feedback option in Archie (Help > Feedback).

4. Information on country of origin and sex for people with records in Archie
Information on 'Country of Origin' and 'Sex' for people with records in Archie When possible, please remember to complete the 'Country of Origin' and 'Sex' in the 'Properties > Info' for people with records in Archie. If you are using the Title registration form suggested by the Quality Advisory Group (http://www.cochrane.org/crgprocedures/index.htm), you will already be collecting this information for authors.
5. IMS question of the week
Question: We withdrew a review from publication a long time ago but now have a new review team who would like to update the review following a new protocol they are currently preparing. How should we handle the file management in Archie?
Answer: We suggest that the review remains withdrawn and you create a new record in Archie for the new review to be developed by the new review team. The IMS developers are working on a split and merge wizard which, when available, will allow you to bring the two reviews together either as a link or by appending the versions from one review to another. We also advise that you update the reason for withdrawal of the original review to inform users of the registration of the new title to update the review.
