1. Move to Phase 2 of the IMS underway
The move to Phase 2 of the IMS has started. Phase 2 replaces ModMan as a tool for preparing and submitting a CRG's module of protocols, reviews and information about the Group for publication in The Cochrane Library. The first part of this phase involved the pilot CRGs submitting their modules using the live IMS server after submitting their modules in the usual way to Update Software. These Groups will be checking their publications in this week's release of The Cochrane Library against those published through the IMS (using a test publication site developed by Wiley) to identify any differences.
The pilot groups are now using RevMan 4.3 and the live IMS server in their everyday work rather than RevMan 4.2 and ModMan and will hopefully be submitting their May modules via the IMS (this will be decided when the results of the test mentioned above are available). If no major problems are identified, other CRGs will gradually move to Phase 2 of the IMS between June 2005 and May 2006, but please note that no decisions as to when your CRG will move over will be taken until we have consulted you. When your CRG moves to Phase 2, you will also receive support from your IMS Support person which will be tailored to meet your individual needs.
2. Reminder: Messaging system
Remember that if you want to reply to messages you receive under My Tools , you cannot do this from within the messaging system at the moment. We will let you know once you can reply to such messages directly from within the system. In the meantime, remember you can initiate an email from with the IMS by finding the person you want to email (eg by using Quick Search), right-clicking the name, and choosing Email.
3. Question of the week
Question: When we delete a duplicate, if there is a note attached to it, does the note transfer to the other record?
Answer: Yes, the notes within the duplicate record are transferred along with the roles.
