(a) User Guide
You can download an up-to-date copy of the User Guide for Phase 2 (5 October 2005) at www.cc-ims.net/Projects/newIMS/phase2. Please continue to feedback suggestions to your IMS Support person to improve the Guide. Although certain sections are currently being developed further, we hope you will find a lot of useful information to reinforce the training you have already received during your site visit by your IMS Support person.
(b) Question of the week
Question: I checked in a protocol to Archie. Why didn't it recognise and link it to the title that I had registered in Archie?
Answer: Archie will only link the draft Protocol to the registered Title if the review number is the same. To help with version control during the interim period, we suggest you check the title out from Archie to RevMan, prepare the protocol file for the authors (e.g. change the status to protocol, add the review number, and contact IDs if not in Archie) and send this file to the contact author. Ask the author to use this version to develop the protocol. When you receive the draft protocol from the author and check it into Archie, the unique review ID will be matched against the title and will create one record, and will move it from Title to Protocol if you have checked it in for editorial consideration.
If you haven't been able to send the RevMan file from Archie before receiving the draft protocol for editorial consideration from the author, you will have to delete the registered Title in Archie after checking in the draft protocol. Remember you will have to copy any Notes you have created from the Title to the Protocol in order not to lose them.
